The Comune di Gavi designation is the most rigorous within the Gavi area: pure Cortese grapes, grown on calcareous-clay soils in the eponymous commune, which lend the wine its characteristic minerality. Pale straw yellow, with aromas of citrus and white flowers, a dry and persistent finish. Piedmont’s great white, capable of ageing with grace.
